About Arm Lift Surgery
An unwanted side effect with losing weight or getting older is finding loose skin. At Lee Plastic Surgery and Laser Center, we offer arm lift surgery (or brachioplasty) as a correction for patients who cannot seem to tighten and tone the arm with diet and exercise. Lax skin from the elbow to the upper arm is very common, especially for men and women who have lost weight or are advancing in age. Dr. S. Darrell Lee, a Port St. Lucie, FL plastic surgeon, is very experienced in skin tightening and fat removal surgeries. If you would like to learn more about how brachioplasty can improve the look of your arms, please call and schedule a consultation at Lee Plastic Surgery and Laser Center today.
An arm lift is a cosmetic surgery that uses innovative techniques to slim and excise excess skin and fat. If you are self-conscious about your flabby arms and want them to look fit and healthy again, you are a good candidate for this procedure. You should be in good overall health so that the skin will heal well. Some of the main symptoms for an arm lift patient are hanging, loose skin on the upper arms, and lost elasticity of the skin. It is also important that you are at your ideal weight prior to surgery.
"Absolutely the most kind, caring and patient staff and Dr Lee is amazing. He is so good at what he does. I've had a few procedures done both in office and at surgery center. I'd recommend Dr Lee to anyone who is looking for a board certified plastic surgeon. I'm so thankful to have chosen them!"- A. / Healthgrades / Feb 09, 2019
"Real Name- (Diana k.) Dr. Lee gave me injections and my sister a free consultation too. I've had injections before but he did the most amazing job on me and he is so wonderful, kind, thorough and honest. He makes you feel so at ease too with his incredible sense of humor when you visit him. We asked him about several different procedures and you can call him Honest Abe as he was so honest telling us we didn't need any of them we thought we did. In my experience, other plastic surgeons try to talk you into having every procedure they can talk you into getting done. Dr. Lee does not do that! He is so honest and so sweet. We just love him. He is the nicest person we have ever met and so professional. After going to Dr. Lee I will never go to another Plastic surgeon again for anything. I forgot to mention that his staff is also very terrific, caring, kind and polite. I would give him 10 stars if I could. HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE!!"- S.S. / Google / Jun 07, 2019

"Dr. Lee is a perfectionist (and isn’t that wonderful)... so friendly and professional. I’ve always believed you can tell how good a doctor is by the quality of the staff he surrounds himself with, well he’s hit the mark there as well."- P. / Google / May 09, 2019
Most likely, your arm lift surgery will take place in an outpatient setting. An arm lift can be combined with other procedures (performed in an inpatient setting for monitoring), such as tummy tucks, mommy makeovers, and thigh lifts — if Dr. Lee decides it's safe. An arm lift is performed under general anesthesia and may take several hours to complete. The loose skin will be excised from the elbow all the way up to the underarm. The incision will be made as inconspicuously as possible, but it will most likely leave a visible scar. If liposuction is needed to remove stubborn fatty deposits, this will be performed as well. Once the skin is tightened, it will be sutured back into place. You will need to keep the incisions clean, bandaged, and wrapped with compression garments.
What to Expect
Your recovery period should last about two weeks with lots of arm elevation and rest. Allow yourself time to heal. You use your arms for everything, so patients should ease their way back into their normal routines. A suture removal appointment will be set approximately ten days after surgery. Compression garments should be worn until you are released by Dr. Lee. For at least a month (4 – 5 weeks), all exercise should be avoided, with the exception of taking short walks. If you observe excessive swelling, uncontrolled bleeding, hematoma (fluid buildup), infection, loss of feeling in the arms or hands, or heavy scarring, please call Lee Plastic Surgery and Laser Center for assistance.
