When you first arrive for your appointment, the team gets you comfortable before administering anesthesia. The doctor then selects which of the four incision options is best for your unique brow shape and the level of sagging present.
- Trichophytic Incision – The doctor places this incision directly along the dense follicles of your hairline. By beveling the scalpel, we can preserve your hair growth within the scar line. We can advance your frontal hairline by 1 to 2 centimeters. After your recovery, your continued hair growth can help hide your surgical scar.
- Lateral (Temporal) Brow Lift – Using a more horizontal approach, the doctor places the incision at the lateral/temporal hairline. This allows the outer corners of the brow to lift, which also decreases upper eyelid hooding. This works well for sagging that is present outside of the forehead’s center. It is also a method for reducing the appearance of crow’s feet.
Additionally, Dr. S. Darrell Lee weakens the procerus, frontalis, and corrugated muscles that create those stubborn lines along the glabella. This helps reduce overall wrinkles in this area without the need for injectables such as Botox. You can also bring your hairline downward by up to two centimeters, decreasing your forehead’s length.
