About Microneedling with PRP
Lee Plastic Surgery and Laser Center is proud to offer microneedling, an innovative aesthetic procedure that punctures tiny holes in the outermost layer of skin on your neck, face, or chest to stimulate skin restoration and collagen production. To offer patients the best results possible, our practice uses SkinPen®, the only FDA-approved microneedling pen on the market. As an added benefit, your platelet-rich plasma (PRP) may be applied to the same region to help cells heal and permit the skin to begin growing new cells. When these procedures are combined, they can reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, scars, dark spots, large pores, and many other skin conditions. The tone and texture of your skin could be greatly improved to look smoother and more even in tone without damaging the skin with more invasive treatments. If you would like to learn more about microneedling with PRP, schedule a one-on-one consultation with plastic surgeon Dr. S. Darrell Lee or a member of our team at our office in Port St. Lucie, FL.
Microneedling with PRP Reviews
Ideal Candidates
A great candidate for microneedling with PRP is anybody seeking to improve the appearance or texture of the top layer of their face. Dry skin, uneven skin tone, harsh texture, age spots, loose skin, acne, wrinkles, and scarring are all skin conditions that could benefit from a microneedling with PRP therapy session. This noninvasive procedure can also be employed to fight the effects of sun damage, which might have caused your skin to have a rough texture or hyperpigmentation.
Procedure Technique
Before the microneedling portion of your treatment takes place, a member of our team will take a sample of your blood for your PRP collection. The drawn blood will then be transferred to our lab for the separation process during which your regenerative cells, platelets, and growth factors will be condensed into PRP. For the microneedling therapy, Lee Plastic Surgery and Laser Center uses modern technology to make minuscule holes on the outer layer of your skin. The specialized needles will not harm your skin but instead, will help stimulate the creation of collagen. When the microneedling session is complete, the PRP serum will be applied to the skin and allowed to absorb.
What to Expect
Following your therapy, you may experience minor bruising, swelling, and/or redness. Dr. Lee and our team members recommend that you do not wear makeup, use exfoliating face washes, or submerge in a swimming pool for about three days following the session. Activities like this can expose your skin to harsh bacteria and chemicals, which could lead to negative reactions. You should also reduce sun exposure or take proactive measures when planning to be outside. Full results are typically seen within the first month as the skin works to repair and heal itself.

Rejuvenate and Restore
Microneedling with PRP can be quite useful for patients looking to restore the appearance and feel of the skin. It can help make skin look younger, smoother, firmer, and more luminous. We invite patients to learn more about this therapy by speaking to one of our certified aestheticians or by scheduling an appointment at our Port St. Lucie, FL practice today.
